Why the India Gate is called India Gate? 

Its design was the creation of Sir Edwin Lutyens who was a Britisher. 

The beauty of this design is that the architect of this gate is the memorial arch (Arch of Constantine). This gate is supposed to be similar to the Gateway of India (Bombay) and Arc de Triomphe (Paris).

Near to the India Gate, two very famous constructions were established and declared by the Prime Minister of India as the National War Museum and National War Memorial which are visited by a large number of domestic and global tourists all around the year.

A Canopy of the former ruler of India named King George V was built in 1936 with Marbal in his honour and got space in this place which was later removed because of political agitations.
