Why the India Gate is called India Gate? 

Its design was the creation of Sir Edwin Lutyens who was a Britisher. 

The beauty of this design is that the architect of this gate is the memorial arch (Arch of Constantine). This gate is supposed to be similar to the Gateway of India (Bombay) and Arc de Triomphe (Paris).

Imperial War Graves Commission (IWGA) was established by the British for the origin of war memorials for those soldiers who were martyred in the first world war. Lord Irwin established it in the year 1931. 

Near to the India Gate, two very famous constructions were established and declared by the Prime Minister of India as the National War Museum and National War Memorial which are visited by a large number of domestic and global tourists all around the year.

The great statue of 28 feet high and 6 feet wide of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narender Modi on 21st January 2022 and was inaugurated on 23rd January of the same year just two days before his 125th birthday.
A Canopy of the former ruler of India named King George V was built in 1936 with Marbal in his honour and got space in this place which was later removed because of political agitations.
