Who Ajmer Sharif Dargah built in Rajasthan?
The Mosque is the main shape of this dargah, a Sufi mausoleum which is built on the concept of the well-known Architect Sunni-Al-Jamaat.
This Dargah is very famous all over the world because of its religious value and with time, it enhanced its fame and size.
Not only the local people but also the various rulers and known personalities of their time like Nasirddin Mahmud, Muhammad bin Tughluq, Razia Sultana, Sher Shah Suri, Akbar Jhangir up to Jahanara Begum had visited this Dargah for prayer.
Nowadays this is one of the most desired Dargah for Sunni Muslims worldwide. This Dargah is also visited by a large number of Hindus who have venerated the Islamic saint for a long period.
Many devotees visit this place including women and devotees from different religions. The mandatory namaz in this dargah is at least 5 times a day.
The main religious ceremony in the Dargah is the ceremony of the Dua-e-Roshni which is carried out at the time of sunset in which the Khadims carry a large number of yellow candles to the Dargah.
The urs are the death anniversary of Moinuddin Chisti who this day reunited Allah. The end of urs begins with Qul when the final prayer of done and on these days the devotees try to visit and go into the Dargah as many times as they can.
It is believed that the Islamic culture started in India from the influence of this Dargah which was added by the Tansen’s music, Salim Chishti, Abul Faizi and Abul Fazi.
This Dargah is one of the best examples of Mughal architecture designed by the best Mughal designers of that time which is witnessed by its Dalaans, Tombs and courtyards.
As per the ancient stories, it is said the saint Moinuddin Chisti locked himself in the room of this Dargah for 6 days and at that time he had passed nearly 113 years of his age.
When his room was opened by his followers and devotees only there was a corporal body left and the festival Urs is celebrated in memory of those 6 days by all his followers who are almost all the people of the Muslim religion.
The premises of this dargah are equipped with two big cauldrons which are taken into use on religious and other important times for making sweets and kheers etc.
