1. Nighoj – Maharashtra
Nighoj is situated in the Ahmednagar District of Maharastra in the western and central regions of India. It is a small village with a total population of about 13,500 people and is known for potholes created by the nature on the riverbed side of the Kukadi River.
Its phenomenon formation is the subject of study by the experts who visit this place every year for its study. 3. Bhimbetka Rock Shelters – Madhya Pradesh
Bhimbetka rock shelters are located in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh state in the northern part of India and spread over an area of about 1,890 hectares (7.30 mi). This site belongs to the historic period as well as the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods. This is also an archaeological site of central India which consists of traces of early human life the presence of the Stone Age which started in the Acheulian times.
This site has the pride to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes seven hills and about 755 rock shelters. The unique fact about these shelters is that some shelters belong from 15,000 years ago. The caves and the rock shelters are the live proof of the existence and life of humans from hunter-gatherers to agriculturists.
Some of the paintings in the cave of Bhimbetka rock shelters are more than 10,000 years old. These paintings mainly are made of animals, hunting and dance which reflects the early life of humans. This rock art is the oldest-known art in India and also in the largest prehistoric complexes.
This rock art is supposed to be the oldest petroglyph art in the whole world with some similar arts like aboriginal rock and the palaeolithic Lascaux cave paintings in Australia and France respectively. Out of the total 750 rock shelters in this place, visitors can enjoy only 11 to 15 rock shelters which are open for tourists.
The old Dickinsonia fossils of basal animals which belong to more than 550 million years have been found at the Bhimbetka Rocks Shelters. This region is full of sculpted formations in the sandstone rocks. The old historical time’s paintings are evidence of religious motifs, Magical sky chariots and the tree gods.

4. Sandakphu – West Bengal
Sandakphu also called Sandakpur is located between the border of India and Nepal at about 3638 meters high on the Singlila Ridge mountains peak. In the Indian state West Bengal and ridge, it is the highest peak and is located near Singalila National Park which has a small village with some hotels.

This peak is located at an altitude of about 11,900 feet on Sanakphu from where we can view the Everest peak cluster.
The family peak of Kanchenjunga which is the third highest peak is known for the Sleeping Buddha which is one of the most attractions for tourists visiting this place. The tea house is unique at this place which can not get on any other trek in the country (India) and from here the tourists can view the Nepali culture enveloping visitors in these tea houses. 5. Mechukha – Arunachal – Pradesh 
Mechukha is a town located in the Sri-Yomi district of the A P state of India with an elevation of about 1,825 meters above sea level. It is in the Mchukha Valley of Yargep Chu and before 1950 this valley was famous as Pachakshiri.

6. Gandikota – Andhra Pradesh

Gandikota has its identity due to its Gandikota fort in this small village and historically located near the Penna river of Kadapa district in the Andhra Pradesh state of India was established in the 12th Century A D. This fort is the symbol of the power of the dynasties like Pemmasani Nayakas, Kalyani Chalukyas, and the Golconda Sultanate. The Golconda Sultanate had the pride to be the capital of Pammasani Nauakas for more than 305 years.
The large fort consisting of about 100 towers was established by Pammasani Nauakas by renovating the old sand fort of Kaka Raja subordinate of the Kalyani Chalukya dynasty. Later on, a number of replacements for Islamic architecture were made by the Muslim rulers.

12. Gavi – Kerala
Gavi is an unexplored hill station located in the Pathanamthitta district of the Kerala state of India with an elevation of 1,040 meters from sea level. It is a very small village whose official language is Malayalam and English.
Gavi is one of the parts of Seethathode Panchayath and is within the Ranni Reserve Forest. This place has sufficient infrastructure for tourists and can be reached by car or taxi from Vandiperiyar. 13. Nubra Valley – Jammu and Kashmir

This place is now under the supervision of the Indian military due to the reason that it leads to their Siachen camps. There are some statutory restrictions to visiting this valley as the Indians require an Inner Line Permit and the foreigners need the protected area permit the photocopy of which is required to submit to the military soldiers at Khardung La Pass.
The weather of this valley remains cold and therefore it is better to carry warm clothes to take care of and enjoy.
